In the 90’s

It’s happening! For the first time in four years (except for one week last year) I am under 200lbs! Hello 90’s! It’s good to see you! I feel like celebrating this victory in the best way I know how… with thanks yous.

Thank you roast green beans, for being my favorite alternative to potato chips — for being crispy, salty, and so easy to make.

Thank you Gilly Water from Harry Potter World, for being the perfect size to carry around all day, for reminding me the world is bigger than my weight loss journey, and for making me drink more water because gosh darn it I will get the most out of this ridiculous $5.00 theme park water.

Thank you, oh silly Plant Nanny app, for helping me to remember to drink water, and threatening me with dying cartoons if I neglect to take care of myself.

Thank you Disney Half-Marathon, and all those who helped to sponsor me, for inspiring me to get my butt out of bed in the morning and run my little feet off.

Thank you Weight Watcher leader Carol (not her real name), for making me laugh through this journey and making our meetings awesome. Thank you for looking and acting like Carol Burnett so that I can call you Carol.

Thank you to all of your, readers — so many family and friends who read this thing. Thank you for keeping me going. Thank you for your kindness and encouragement. And last… for emphasis…. thank you to my mother. There are not words enough for every way my mother has supported and helped me through this. For answering the phone when I called crying because I was up one (or three) pounds. For telling me I am beautiful. For buying my Louisville ring to remind me I’m worthwhile every day. For supporting me in every way every step of the way. I love you.

This has not been easy, but it has been good. I am endlessly grateful for my incredibly blessed and lucky life. 180’s — I’m coming for ya!


Weight: 199.5lbs (down 13lbs!)  How do you feel?: Excited!  Small Victory: BBQ Beef ribs are one of my favorite foods of all time. My mom made them for my dad for father’s day, and I only ate ONE (instead of 4) Biggest Disappointment: I’m still looking for a job, which sucks, but hey I’m under 200lbs, nothing’s going to drag me down!  Thing I appreciated about my body this week:  Everything. I have a good body. It is good to me and I love it. .#embraceablenow: Because I am!

      So easy! Spray olive oil. Add salt. Roast at 400!
